Job Description

  • Thrift2Gift is a non-profit Christian thrift store in Cary with the mission of helping children and families in crisis situations.

  • Primary role of this position is to disciple women in their walk with Christ. We are seeking someone who is comfortable sharing their faith and engaging with people of all faith backgrounds. Candidate must have a strong personal walk with Christ and feel a strong call to ministry and discipleship.

  • Ability to work with many types of people groups and ages with the goal of sharing our faith in Christ when appropriate with permission and meeting the volunteers where they are in their life

  • Candidate will also need strong managerial and communication skills as they will be in charge of leading and directing groups of volunteers and community service workers.

  • Must be able to work 30-40 hours per week which includes helping close the store on at least 3 nights per week as well as work most Saturdays (closed on Sundays)

  • Depending on the experience level of candidate this will be a $10-$14 per hour position

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Inspect, Train, and Manage small groups of volunteers & community service workers

  • Coordinate store objectives with Store Manager

  • Assist Volunteer Coordinator with administrative tasks

  • All positions include sharing register responsibilities and working with clients on the floor

  • Inspect clothing areas daily

  • Train volunteers in the areas of sorting, hanging and racking clothes on sales floor

  • Responsible for overall look and cleanliness of the clothes racks in the store

  • Responsible for merchandising and end caps

  • Responsible for daily examining clothes racks for proper order, sizing, coloring, appropriate hangers used in each area

Education and Experience:

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED at a minimum

  • Prefer candidates with minimum of 2 years retail and/or non-profit volunteer experience

  • Must be very computer/smart phone proficient. Job requires frequent use of Google Drive, Excel, and other mobile applications

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment

  • Must be enthusiastic and able to motivate others

  • Ability to handle multiple moving components at the same time such as helping clients, directing volunteers, and supervising store processes at the same time

  • Must be in good physical condition

Salary: $10.00 to $14.00 /hour

Cashier/Customer Service Rep

Job Description

  • Thrift2Gift is a non-profit Christian thrift store in Cary with the mission of helping children and families in crisis situations.

  • Primary role of this position is to minister to customers by showing love and care to every person who walks through our doors

  • Ability to work with many types of people groups and ages with the goal of sharing our faith in Christ when appropriate with permission and meeting our customers where they are in their life

  • Candidate will also need strong communication skills as they will be checking out and assisting customers with questions on the floor

  • Must be able to work 3 out of 4 Saturdays per month - schedule determined 1 month in advance

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Run register

  • Put back clothes from dressing room

  • Help customers on the floor

  • Stock and organize the floor when store is not busy

  • Direct and train volunteers how to bag and manage dressing rooms

Education and Experience:

  • Prefer candidates register experience

  • Must be very computer/smart phone proficient. Job requires frequent use of Google Drive, Excel, and other mobile applications
